How TopFxBrokers Evaluated LMFX?

Our take on LMFX

Verdict in Brief

LMFX has been operating since 2015, with MetaTrader 4 at the center of its forex and CFD service. The broker gives traders four account structures, leverage as high as 1:1000, and minimum deposits starting at $5. On paper, that is an appealing combination for active traders and automated systems. The catch is substantial: no named financial regulator supervises the MetaTrader service. LMFX therefore asks traders to accept weaker legal protection in exchange for flexible trading conditions.

Best Suited To

  • Experienced traders who understand high leverage and counterparty risk.
  • MT4 users running Expert Advisors, custom indicators, or VPS-based strategies.
  • Scalpers looking for raw spreads with a fixed commission.
  • Traders who need micro contracts, fixed spreads, or swap-free status.
Pros
  • Premium and Micro accounts start at $5
  • Maximum leverage reaches 1:1000
  • Traders can choose floating, fixed, micro, or raw spread pricing
  • Scalping, hedging, news trading, and Expert Advisors are generally permitted
Cons
  • No named financial regulator oversees the MetaTrader forex and CFD service
  • MT4 is the only core trading platform
  • Arbitrage, price picking, and sniping are prohibited
  • A withdrawal fee applies when the required trading volume has not been met

Can LMFX Be Trusted?

2.6/5

Regulation and Licenses

Global Trade Partners Ltd. operates the MetaTrader service from Skopje, North Macedonia, with company registration number 7020600. That number establishes the company as a registered business. It is not evidence of authorization to provide regulated forex or investment services, and LMFX does not name a financial authority that supervises this part of the business.

Payment processing is handled by GTP Global Solutions Ltd. in Saint Vincent and the Grenadines. Another group company, Live Markets LLC in the Comoros Union, holds company registration number HY01023439 and brokerage license numbered T2023402 for crypto services. The distinction matters. LMFX states that this license does not cover the rest of its product range, so it should not be treated as regulatory protection for MetaTrader forex and CFD trading.

There is also no listed investor compensation scheme or regulator-backed complaints service. Compared with a broker supervised by an established authority, clients have fewer external safeguards if a dispute arises.

Client Money Protection

The client money policy says customer funds are pooled in accounts separate from the company’s operating money. If the business entered liquidation, the designated pool would be distributed after administration costs.

Segregation is better than mixing client and company funds, but it is only part of the protection normally expected from a regulated broker. LMFX does not show that the arrangement is independently monitored by a financial authority, and no statutory compensation fund covers a shortfall. For that reason, keeping only necessary trading capital with the broker is the more cautious approach.

Negative Balance Protection

Clause 15.5 of the Account Opening Agreement states that a negative balance caused by the stop-out will be settled rather than left as a debt to the client. This is useful, but the wording is narrower than regulatory protections that apply regardless of how the negative balance occurred. It also does not prevent the loss of the full deposit.

Security and Company Track Record

LMFX has traded under the same brand since 2015 and remains privately held. What is missing is the financial transparency associated with a listed or closely supervised broker: there is no published regulatory capital figure, external audit, or detailed financial reporting. Address information also needs attention. The website lists Risto Ravanovski 13a, 1000 Skopje for Global Trade Partners Ltd., while some legal documents show 28 Koco Racin Blvd., 1000 Skopje. Anyone sending a formal notice should confirm the correct address with support first.

LMFX reports that 71.11% of retail investor accounts lose money when trading CFDs with the provider. That figure is a useful reminder that leverage magnifies poor risk control just as quickly as it magnifies a profitable move.

Pricing and Trading Costs

3.7/5

Forex Spreads and Commissions

The account choice has a direct effect on trading costs. Premium and Micro use floating spreads from 1.0 pip and do not add a separate forex commission. Fixed removes spread variation, while Zero uses raw pricing from 0.0 pips and charges $4 per standard lot on entry and another $4 on exit.

For EUR/USD, published spreads are 1.4 pips on Premium and Micro, 1.9 pips on Fixed, and 0.2 pips on Zero before commission. GBP/USD is listed at 2.0, 2.5, and 0.8 pips. Our calculated weighted average spreads are 1.9 pips on EUR/USD and 2.0 pips on GBP/USD. The difference is worth noting because a minimum spread, a product table, and a live average do not describe the same trading experience.

On a one-lot EUR/USD position, the $8 Zero commission is roughly equal to 0.8 pip. Add a 0.2 pip spread and the indicative all-in cost comes to about 1.0 pip. Elsewhere, index CFDs carry a $2 round-turn commission per lot and share CFDs cost 0.10%. Published typical spreads include 6.3 pips on XAU/USD and 0.6 points on USA500.

Overnight Financing Charges

A position held through 21:00 GMT becomes subject to swap. The triple charge generally applies to forex and metals on Wednesday and to indices on Friday. The final amount varies with the instrument, trade direction, interest-rate differential, and any relevant corporate action.

Swap-free status removes ordinary swaps on forex, metals, and oil for the first seven days. Positions kept open beyond that period incur a daily carry charge, so the account is not indefinitely free of overnight costs.

Funding and Currency Conversion Costs

Trading accounts are available in USD or EUR, and LMFX does not charge an internal deposit fee. That does not guarantee a cost-free transfer. Banks, card issuers, e-wallets, blockchain networks, and foreign exchange conversion can all add charges of their own. Matching the payment currency to the account currency avoids one unnecessary conversion.

Inactivity and Other Charges

There is no monthly inactivity fee. Instead, a live account may be archived after 90 calendar days without a login and later restored through the client area. An unused demo account is removed after 40 days.

The less straightforward charge appears in the withdrawal terms. LMFX applies a fee when a client requests funds before trading three standard lots for each deposit. Because the agreement does not give a fixed amount, low-volume traders should ask for the exact cost in writing before funding the account.

Accounts and Minimum Deposit

4.1/5

Account Options

LMFX has four live account types, each aimed at a different trading style. Premium is the general-purpose choice. Micro reduces one lot to 1,000 units, making position sizing more manageable for small balances. Fixed suits traders who prefer predictable spreads, while Zero is designed for higher-turnover strategies that can benefit from raw pricing. The headline minimum is not always the amount needed to fund the account, since Visa, Mastercard, Skrill, FasaPay, and Neteller each require at least $50 or €50.

Account Minimum Deposit Maximum Leverage Spread Structure Commission Margin Call Stop Out
Premium $5 1:1000 Floating, from 1.0 pip No separate forex commission 50% 20%
Micro $5 1:1000 Floating, from 1.0 pip No separate forex commission 50% 20%
Fixed $25 1:400 Fixed No separate forex commission 30% 15%
Zero $15 1:250 Raw, from 0.0 pips $4 per side, $8 round-turn per standard lot 30% 15%

Demo and Swap-Free Accounts

The demo account is useful for learning the MT4 layout and checking how a strategy behaves before real money is involved. Swap-free treatment can be requested on all four live accounts, although LMFX may ask for proof of faith. This status applies to forex, metals, and oil for seven days and cannot be held alongside a standard account.

Products and Trading Conditions

2.5/5

Tradable Markets

LMFX offers more than 250 instruments. The selection is centered on forex and CFDs rather than long-term investing.

  • 46 currency pairs.
  • Nine indices, including USA500, USA100, USA30, UK100, GER40, and USDIndex.
  • Coffee, copper, palladium, platinum, and Sugar No. 11.
  • Gold and silver quoted against USD and EUR.
  • US oil, UK oil, and natural gas.
  • Selected share CFDs from the NYSE, Nasdaq, and London Stock Exchange.

That is enough variety for a forex-led CFD portfolio, especially when indices and metals are used for diversification. It is not a substitute for a full multi-asset broker, since there are no cash equities, exchange-traded funds, bonds, listed options, or futures.

Leverage and Margin Requirements

Maximum leverage ranges from 1:250 to 1:1000 by account, although individual products can carry stricter limits. Metals are fixed at 1:100, and shares and some CFDs follow their own margin schedules.

The practical risk at 1:1000 is easy to underestimate. Each $1 of margin can control up to $1,000 of market exposure before other limits apply, so a 0.1% adverse move can consume the margin attached to a fully leveraged position.

Execution Quality and Trading Rules

LMFX describes its model as STP, yet the legal agreement allows the execution venue to act as a market maker, offset positions, and take the opposite side of client exposure. When marketing language and contract wording differ, the contract carries more weight. Traders should therefore assume that a potential conflict of interest can exist.

Scalping, hedging, news trading, and Expert Advisors are generally allowed. Arbitrage, price picking, and sniping are not. Permission to use a strategy does not remove normal execution risks, including slippage, wider spreads, thin liquidity, and volume restrictions.

There is also a daily pause between 23:55 and 00:15 server time, when orders are not executed during bank rollover. Automated systems that hold or open positions around rollover need to account for that gap.

Platforms and Trading Features

3.4/5

Supported Platforms

There is no platform choice in the usual sense: LMFX is an MT4 broker. Traders can use desktop applications for Windows, Mac, and Linux, a browser-based WebTrader, or mobile apps for iOS, Android, and Huawei. MT5 and a proprietary terminal are not available.

For forex trading, MT4 still does the essentials well. Order entry is familiar, the charting tools are dependable, and the MQL4 ecosystem remains useful for custom indicators and automated strategies. Traders who need MT5 market depth, more native timeframes, or wider exchange connectivity will find the setup limiting.

Charts, Research and Analysis

MT4 supplies the main analytical toolkit through multiple chart styles, technical indicators, drawing tools, templates, and one-click trading. LMFX adds an economic calendar, calculators, market articles, news, and daily technical analysis. The material is practical for traders who already know how to form a view, but it does not match the depth of research produced by larger institutional teams.

Automated and Copy Trading

Automation is handled through MQL4, so Expert Advisors, custom indicators, and plugins fit naturally into the platform. Developers working in other programming languages face a less convenient route because LMFX does not provide a public REST or WebSocket API. A third-party bridge would be required.

Copy trading is also external to the broker. Clients can use MT4 Signals or compatible trade copiers, but there is no proprietary social trading network. VPS hosting costs $20 per month and is waived after a $5,000 deposit.

Learning Materials

The education section works better as a reference shelf than as a course. It covers basic forex concepts, calculators, market analysis, and economic events, which can help with individual questions. A new trader looking for a clear path through leverage, position sizing, psychology, regulation, and risk management will need more structured material elsewhere.

Joining LMFX

Registration and Identity Checks

Account opening begins in the LMFX client wallet, where the applicant selects the account settings and completes Know Your Customer checks. A government-issued identity document and recent proof of address are the standard requirements. LMFX may also request evidence of payment ownership or source of funds. Withdrawals stay locked until verification is complete.

Availability depends on residence and local law. Checking the current restricted jurisdiction list before starting the application can prevent wasted time later.

Approval Times

LMFX does not promise a fixed approval time. Clear, current documents should make the process smoother, while additional compliance checks can extend it. The company may return or reject money sent before KYC approval, so verification should come before the first deposit.

Funding Your Account

3.6/5

Deposit and Withdrawal Methods

The cashier combines familiar payment methods with a notably broad crypto selection. Depending on the country, clients may see Mastercard, Visa, Bitcoin, Ethereum, Tether, Skrill, wire transfer, UnionPay, FasaPay, Neteller, Litecoin, Dash, Bitcoin Cash, Monero, XRP, Dogecoin, TRON, Binance Coin, USD Coin, and TrueUSD.

Withdrawals generally return through the original funding method under anti-money-laundering rules. LMFX may not charge for the transaction itself, but a bank, card provider, e-wallet, conversion service, or blockchain network may still charge a fee. Low-volume clients also need to consider the separate trading-volume condition attached to withdrawals.

Processing Times

Deposit times vary enough that the payment method matters. Visa and Mastercard can take up to 30 minutes. Skrill, FasaPay, and Neteller are described as instant, Instacoins may take one hour, and crypto deposits depend on network confirmation.

For withdrawals, LMFX may spend up to three business days reviewing a complete request. After approval, e-wallet payments can arrive within a few hours to one business day, crypto from a few minutes to 24 hours, cards within two to five business days, and international wires within two to 15 business days.

Help and Customer Service

3.8/5

Contact Options and Availability

LMFX provides customer support 24 hours a day from Monday through Friday, covering the main trading week. Traders can contact the service team via live chat, by email at [email protected], or by telephone on +44 2035192105. The absence of weekend support is unlikely to affect routine forex trading, although it may be inconvenient when an account or funding issue arises outside market hours.

Response Speed and Service Quality

Live chat is the most practical channel for quick questions about account access, platform settings, or general trading conditions. More complex matters, particularly those involving withdrawals, identity documents, pricing, bonuses, order execution, or disputed transactions, should be raised by email. Written correspondence creates a clear record of what was reported, when it was reported, and how the broker responded. Telephone support can be useful when an issue needs immediate explanation, but any important outcome should still be confirmed in writing.

Languages and Complaint Handling

Formal complaints should be detailed enough for the broker to investigate without repeated requests for information. A useful submission should contain the trading account number, relevant order tickets, transaction dates, payment references, screenshots, previous correspondence, and a clear description of the resolution being sought. Traders who first contact LMFX by live chat or telephone should follow up by email and retain copies of all messages. This is particularly important because no independent ombudsman or external dispute resolution body is identified for the MetaTrader service, leaving clients more dependent on the broker's internal complaint process and their own documentary evidence.

The website is available in English, Chinese, Spanish, Indonesian, Portuguese, Turkish, and Japanese, while direct assistance is offered in English, Spanish, Portuguese, and Japanese.

How LMFX Compares

Better Choice for New Traders

FXGlory is a more accessible alternative for beginners who want to start with limited capital and practice on familiar trading software. The minimum deposit begins at $1, while the platform range covers MetaTrader 4, MetaTrader 5, and GloryTrader. New traders can also use a demo account and work through introductory material on forex terminology, order placement, leverage, margin, and risk management.

Better Choice for Lower Costs

Pepperstone makes a stronger case for active traders who want tight pricing without giving up regulatory oversight. Razor spreads start at 0.0 pips, and the platform range covers MT4, MT5, cTrader, TradingView, and a proprietary terminal. LMFX Zero remains reasonably priced at $4 per side, but Pepperstone combines low-cost execution with broader platform choice and stronger supervision.

Better Choice for Experienced Traders

Interactive Brokers is better suited to experienced traders who need a genuine multi-asset platform. It reaches more than 170 markets, handles advanced order types, publishes transparent routing information, and charges 0.08 to 0.20 basis points of the trade value for spot currency trades. The platform takes longer to learn, but its market access and infrastructure are on a different scale.

Reasons to Choose LMFX

  • Low entry deposits and micro contract sizing.
  • MT4 automation, custom indicators, and optional VPS hosting.
  • Fiat and cryptocurrency funding options cover a wide range of preferences.

How We Reviewed LMFX

Testing and Scoring Process

Every broker is assessed using the same review methodology and scoring framework. Applying consistent criteria across all reviews makes it easier to compare brokers on matters such as regulation, pricing, platforms, account conditions, market access, funding, and customer support. A full explanation of the process is available on our broker review methodology page.

Editorial and Commercial Disclosure

Our broker reviews are produced independently and do not constitute personal financial advice. The same methodology, scoring criteria, and editorial standards are applied to every broker, and no commercial relationships influence our evaluations.

Broker terms can change after publication. While we review and update broker information regularly, readers should still confirm current spreads, commissions, leverage limits, minimum deposits, promotions, payment methods, restricted jurisdictions, and client protection measures before opening or funding an account.

Final Assessment

LMFX has a clear use case. It gives committed MT4 traders low entry deposits, several pricing models, and automated trading tools. For a disciplined trader who specifically wants those features, the setup can be practical.

The limitation is not hidden in the fine print: the MetaTrader service has no named financial regulator or compensation scheme. Add the conditional withdrawal charge, and LMFX becomes difficult to recommend for beginners or anyone planning to keep a large balance with the broker. The trading package is capable, but the protection around it is comparatively thin.

Frequently Asked Questoins

Eligible clients can request swap-free status on any of the four accounts for forex, metals, and oil. A daily carry charge begins after seven days.

Is LMFX available in the United States or the United Kingdom?

No. LMFX states that its information is not directed to residents of the United States, the United Kingdom, or Japan.

Is LMFX good for beginners?

The $5 entry point and Micro account look beginner-friendly, but the lack of strong regulatory protection, high leverage, and conditional withdrawal terms make LMFX a better fit for experienced traders.
